Visa policy of South Ossetia
Visitors to South Ossetia do not require a visa. However visitors are required to hold a valid Russian visa that permits them to return to Russia unless they are Russian citizens or citizens of countries that are exempt from Russian visas and to notify authorities about their visit in advance.〔(About visas )〕
== Entry to South Ossetia ==
All visitors except the Russian citizens must inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia about their intention to enter the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia three working days prior to the visit in order to get a permission to enter. Journalists must first contact the State Committee of Information, Communication and Mass Communication.〔(Procedure of the Entry to the Territory of the Republic of South Ossetia )〕
Everyone, except the residents of the Leningor (Akhalgori) district who can enter and leave South Ossetia through Georgia, is obliged to enter South Ossetia through Russia.
